About Me
Ava Richards is currently a senior at Carlmont High School. She is passionate about creating and telling stories through journalism, photography, and technical theatre. She hopes to pursue some sort of a creative career in the future, but she has too many hobbies to choose just one!
In Carlmont's journalism program, Ava works on many different projects, mostly working on ScotCenter, the broadcast publication. She recently became the managing editor of podcasts, and even co-hosts her own podcast called Theatricult. Previously, she was a production editor and segment producer for the video sector of ScotCenter as well. Ava also acts as a staff writer for The Highlander, the newsmagazine, and enjoys writing opinion articles about topics she is passionate about.
When she's not working on journalism, Ava is heavily involved with two other organizations. The first is a student-run literary magazine called All That's Lit to Print, which aims to publish the creative work of aspiring artists in the world. She is the editor-in-chief of the magazine and loves creating something that her community can enjoy. The second is the Carlmont Technical Theatre Association, which she is the president of. The group is in charge of running all the technical aspects of productions that happen in the Performing Arts Center, like lights, sound, stage, and more. Ava adores technical theatre and hopes to study it in college and beyond.
